This project emerged out of what was already happening in the church of God and has been true of the Movement for over 100 years - fighting for the freedom of those most vulnerable. Sexual exploitation has truly gripped our heart and moved us to action. Over the past three years, we've raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to bolster the work of ministry partners on the front line in the fight against human trafficking around the world.

A tight knit community can keep watch over those who are most vulnerable when they see injustice. In the verses below, God calls us to rescue the weak and the needy and deliver them from the hand of the wicked. He challenges us to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves and defend the rights of the poor and needy. God has put each of us in a community - maybe an apartment building, a neighborhood, a workplace, etc. Inside that sphere of influence, we are called to speak up and defend those who are being treated unfairly.

PRAYER FROM CHILD ADVOCATES AROUND THE WORLD
Human trafficking is the gateway to modern-day slavery. Currently, more than 30 million people live in slavery - more than any other point in history. It is today's disgrace. The gut-wrenching truth is this: 1.2 million children a year are trafficked into some form of forced labor (UNICEF). Worldwide, 2 million children are trapped in the commercial sex trade. At the very core, it's an insult to God Almighty, in whose image we are made. Beyond that, it's an affront to humanity's most basic Golden Rule - treat others the same way you want them to treat you (Luke 6:31).
God is aware of child trafficking and He cares about the suffering of His children. He has not turned a blind eye. Instead, He stirs compassion in our hearts when we hear stories.
As a result, our compassion moves us into action, which creates change.
